The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will have its. Fire Prevention Week Open, House on Oct. 13 as well., I believe the helicopter will be * here and maybe even the smoke house.

The Amissville Ruritans Christmas Decorating Contest, is open to all residents of .the Amissville and Viewtown area. The judging will be done by members of the Ruritans and will be on Dec. 21 and 22. Entiy. forms for the contest will b«t available at Hackley’s Store, and at the fall festival at the Ruritan booth.
Forms must be submitted by Dec. 15 in order to partici--, pate. The fee for either night-, time or daytime decorationswill be $10. You may enter both, categories if you wish. There will be prizes of $50 for first place, $25 for second place, and a turkey for third place for both categories. Contact Amy Hitt for more information at 9373410 or amyrappnews@aol.com.
