Organizational meeting set
The primary mergers of the RAAC 4th of July committee are all stepping down. RAAC is proposing to have a series of meetings to find another group in the community to organize the celebration.
The first meeting has been set for Sept. 20 at the Washington Town Hall at 7 p.m. If you are interested but have a conflict, call RAAC at 675-3193 or the town hall at 675SI 28.
NRA annual banquet set
The Northern Valley Chapter of the Friends of NRA will hold its annual banquet on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. at Bowling Green Country Club in Front Royal. Come enjoy good food, great prizes and lots of fun at the Rappahannock table. To buy tickets or for more information call 675-3679.
Lillard to ride in benefit
Jean Lillard will be riding the 12 mile course in the fifth annual Rappahannock RoughRide on Saturday, Sept. 22 to raise money for various activities for the Rappahannock Senior Citizens. Anyone wishing to make a pledge may do so by calling Jean Lillard at 675-7171 with an amount.
Karate classes underway
Shorin-Ryu Okinawan karate classes are currently underway at Ki Theatre on Gay Street in Washington. Junior classes will be held Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. and adult classes will be held this year on Monday from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
