Virginia is the steeplechasing leader. Not just “among the leaders ...” but tops.
Need proof?
• The commonwealth heads the numbers game, once again: seven steeplechase programs swell the Virginia Steeplechase Association calendar, with nonstop action Sept. 22-Nov. 3. Virginia doubles and even triples the number of race days in other states.
South Carolina is second with three race meets; Pennsylvania has two. Nextdoor Maryland has just one, as do Illinois, New York, New Jersey and Georgia.
Not to boast, but this is “the” place to be for ‘chasing action.
