Treasurer’s report
Mayor Willis presented the Town’s financial report for the month, noting consolidated assets of $606,143.32 though Sept. 24. The Council also reviewed bills to be paid, and Councilman Lynch expressed strong opposition to expenditures for Town Hall drapes and seat cushions that will total “just over $5,000,” according to Mayor Willis.
Mr. Lynch said that he was opposed to these expenditures on two grounds: that this expenditure is “completely out of proportion;” and that he “doesn’t think that it’s a good idea not to bid it out, but to give it to a relative.” “It’s totally outrageous that we’re spending the taxpayer’s money this way,” he added.
