You can purchase down feather ticks from the stores, catalogues, and computers now. They are made much nicer and sturdier with the extra stitching to keep the feathers or down from shifting. There are down sleeping bags, vest, pillows, and comforters, all for extra warmth in cold weather.
To me, they don’t compare to the warmth of the feather ticks we had, and the love and care that our mother took to create one that was completely handmade.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hall recently returned from a tour of Ireland.
Their stops included Kilkenny, Kenmare, Dingle, Galway, Rosscommon and Dublin. On the southern and western coasts, they motored around the Ring of Kerry and visited the Aran Islands.
