The tenth season in the “Smithsonian at Little Washington"concert series opens cm Saturday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. when the Theatre at Washington, Va., and the Smithsonian Chamber Players present the Castle Trio playing music of Haydn and Beethoven. ' To celebrate the milestone of ten years of chamber music from the Smithsonian the series opens and closes with a “Series Within a Series,” in which the Castle Trio will play two of Haydn’s last three great sets of piano trios, plus two of Beethoven’s ground breaking trios written while Beethoven was Studying with Haydn.

The renowned Castle Trio comprises Grammy-awardWinning pianist Lambert Orkis, Cellist Kenneth Slowik and violinist Marilyn McDonald. As soloists and in chamber music ensembles, each of the three has recorded extensively and toured both nationally and internationally. ’ Tickets for the concert are $15 for adults and $5 for students 18 years and under.
