• Much has been said, written, and televised about the tragic happenings of Sept. 11, 2001. None of us here can truly appreciate the horror of “ground zero” from our porches in our beautiful, serene Rappahannock County. In fact, were it not for having been present at the Pentagon on numerous occasions or visiting the World Trade Center, it would seems as though the past weeks’ devastation belonged to yet another country at war.
This tragedy has, however, touched us all. Each of us has a story to tell, a story of where we were when it happened, friends we know who work at the targeted areas, and neighbors who haven’t returned home.
