Pumpkin carving
contest scheduled
1 A pumpkin carving contest sponsored by the Rappahannock County 4-H Adult Leaders Association will be held on Oct. 31. Bring your carved pumpkin to the front of the Washington Arts Building on Gay Street (location of the Extension Office) between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Carved pumpkins will be judged in the following age divisions: 5-8 years, 9-12 years, 13-16 years, and 17 years and older.
Categories in the divisions will be the scariest pumpkin, the funniest pumpkin, and most original pumpkin. Winning pumpkins will receive a ribbon and recipients will receive a special “sweet” surprise. For more information call the Extension Office at 675-3619. All pumpkins must be removed by 9 p.m.
