first, “Little Girl Tossed," is another of her tales of young childhood, this time about her travels with her parents down to New Orleans in 1929, on the way encountering bigotry, abandonment and literally breathtaking friendship.
Her second story, “How I Got to College," reveals the funny-bitter turning point in her life when, on her way from high school to college, she lost her elite self-image and, through Sisyphean travails, gained a quite different, not entirely wished-for, image of an uncertain future.
Sallie Morgan returns this year with an experience that many in the audience are sure to find themselves identifying with, her encounters with The Boss From Hell. But Bosses from Hell come in all shapes and sizes and Sallie Morgan’s was one of the more virulent variety. As you listen to her tale, you may find yourself matching your Boss from Hell against hers.
