• Each day Rappahannock just gets more and more beautiful as leaves and grasses change colors and become more brilliant. There are very predictable patches of color in every neighborhood that many have come to watch for each year ... the trees on the eastbound lane of 211 just west of Seven Ponds Road, the sugar maples in a yard just east of Mayhugh’s Store on the westbound lane of 211, the trees in the RCES Courtyard which seemingly “blaze” through the top of the school, the wild asters, goldenrod and sumac surrounding and reflecting in a pond next to Battl6 Mountain Road in Amissville. Choose some special “predictable” places in your neighborhood and point them out to your children. They may pretend not to notice, or care, but you may be surprised. Have a great week.
