per month, RCHS PAC meets monthly, as well as assorted other committees throughout the year. As you can see, our schools are in constant use for the benefit of our students as well as the community at large. Our principals and assistant principals are very gracious and willing to work with nonprofit groups who request the use of our facilities, though finding a free night is sometimes difficult.

• The Oct. 10 PAC Meeting at RCHS was informative as always. Principal Joe Perine offered insight into a variety of areas and issues that helped parents understand how they can work to facilitate positive change at RCHS. If you have not yet attended a PAC meeting, you are missing out on a valuable opportunity. The November PAC meeting will be a Brown Bag Lunch meeting at noon on Nov. 21 in the Culinary Arts Room. This is the day before the Thanksgiving holiday. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend.

• If you have a suggestion for a topic of discussion at a PAC meeting, please call Mr. Perine at 987-8575, or Jan Makela at 987-8259.

• Congratulations to the recently elected RCES Student Advisory Council Officers. All of the candidates are to be commended for their positive campaigns, and well composed speeches. All candidates for the various offices conducted themselves in a very mature manner and exhibited Panther Pride in every way. The new officers for 2001-2002 are: President, Matt Swain; Vice-president, Rebecca Tupper; Secretary, Laura Wheatley; and Historian, Alana Cloud.

• RCES Art students in Grades 4-7 will be learning about and working on murals for the upcoming Holiday Program. Local artists June Jordan and Linda Heimstra will work with students on eight or so Mondays and Fridays between Oct. 29 and Dec. 14. We are pleased to have these talented ladies share their expertise with our children.
