national mourning, all events were canceled and virtually all businesses were closed. In the days after the tragedy, Dubliners waited for hours outside the American Embassy to express their grief and sign a book of condolences. In a land that is no stranger to tragedy, the kindness and hospitality of the Irish during this period was of great comfort to the thousands of Americans that were stranded there.
In this hectic life we all live, please take the time this week to look at the beautiful mountains around us and enjoy the peace and beauty that is ours to enjoy.
There were several visits to cemeteries this weekend to clear them of brush and growth. One was the yearly trip to the Bolen Cemetery in the Shenandoah Park.
Ms. Ethel Gibson and sons, Rusty and Gary cleared the Woodward Cemetery in Old Hollow. Later they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Keyser.
Ms. Jean Ryalls and Bobby Knighton of Troy were here last Saturday visiting Mrs. Leanna Wharton on Chestnut Land and together they dined at Country Cafe in Washington.
