When Camille Racer became a mother, she was not aware of everything that she will end up doing, or the honors that would be bestowed upon her as her children grew.
On Mother’s Day, May 8, Racer found herself in a place of honor as a “soccer mom” in the middle of a soccer field during a DC United game halftime.
The honor was a result of a letter, written by her son Jacob Racer, a seventh-grader at Rappahannock County Elementary School in response to a contest hosted by 94.7 FM WARW Classic Rock out of Rockville, Maryland.
Racer had planned to take her own mother out to dinner on Saturday evening for Mother’s Day, but when her husband, Jim, heard of the plans, he told her she would really need to go to the DC United game instead.
