Many of us who have lived here long enough to remember her first business, the Rush River Health Food Cooperative in 1975 in what is now Sunnyside Market in Washington, recall mornings chatting over cups of coffee with that “general store” atmosphere where people congregated for conversation.
As her business expanded she moved to what is now the Ice House in Washington in 1978, calling her very own health food business “Nature’s Foods”. In 1980 she again expanded into what is now Washington’s post office/cafe building under the name “Nature’s Foods and Cafe” where not only good food was served and sold but local live music was played.
