This procurement position is responsible fpr goods and services procurement contracting through competitive sealed bidding, com petitive negotiation, and non-competitive negotiation. Experienced individual needed to contract for a variety of equipment and services, with an emphasis on facilities on facilities contracts. This position works with people at all levels of the organization and must frequently prepare and present contract award recommendations to a board of elected officials in public meeting forums. Excellent written and oral communications skills and public presentation skills are necessary for this challenging position. Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, an automated purchasing system, and the Internet for research, will help distinguish the best candidate for this job. Knowledge of the Virginia Public Procurement Act is desired, but training will be provided. State or local government experience is desired. Combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in business admir stration or related field and three years experience in purchasing. (Hiring Range: $38,965 - $50,000/yr).
