The Rappahannock County High School Panthers hosted the Madison County Mountaineers in girls softball May 10, with the Mountaineers coming out on top, 4-2. ' Madison scored in the second, followed by a Rappahannock run to tie the game in the fourth.

The fifth found Madison scoring once again, but the Panthers responded to tie the game again in the sixth.

However, Rapp pitcher Rebecca Tupper could not hold off the Mountaineers who scored twice in the top of the seventh for the win.

Lead hitter for the Panthers were Tupper at 3:4, Jamie Jacobs went 1:2 with a double and two sacrifice bunts.

Noel Johns hit 2:3 with 2 RBI’s.

The Panthers outhit the Mountaineers by three hits, but it was not enough to take the win.

On May 13, the Panthers outscored the Strasburg Rams, 8-0 with Tupper in the circle for the win.

Tupper struck out six, while allowing only seven hits and no walks.
