“Where the Earth Meets the Sky,” a suite of songs by American composer Randall Stroope which sets to music the works of American poets from different cultures. In addition to musical settings for poems by Robert Frost and Langston Hughes, the suite’s last piece hauntingly embraces the Native American vision of this country. The result is a musical tapestry which enhances the artists’ mutual feelings of respect for the splendors of nature and earth’s gifts.
The ensemble will also perform a suite of Scottish folksongs by Ken Berg as well as a number of English, French, and American folk times and spirituals.
