Family Care Home Health and Hospice Care invites individuals who are interested in serving as volunteers to attend training and orientation on Tuesday, May 31 and Thursday, June 2 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided. The training sessions will be held in the conference room at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
Volunteers are the backbone of the hospice service. Volunteers not only provide respite care, give emotional support, and run errands for families, but if you prefer, you can help with office management, writing letters, filing, or telephone support.
The only qualifications are concern for your fellow man and a willingness to help another five as fully and as comfortably as possible. Training is required to ensure volunteers have the skills to feel comfortable working with hospice patients and their families. Monthly inservices provide support for the volunteers, educational information, and keep the volunteers upto-date on events.
