to innovative ways of farming to keep the land self-sufficient. A simple example is if you have cows grazing on the land they will also fertilize it. If you grow hay and just sell it away you are simple removing nutrients from the land and not replenishing it. Miller feels that what is needed is to prove to youths that environmentally healthy ways of farming are still viable and that to be a successful farmer does not mean buying into the agribusiness. Young people need to be woken up to the ways of farming and their interests cultivated so they can learn.
