Rappahannock County High School
Students participating in Rappahannock County High School’s Farm-to-Table Program planted flowers at the Rappahannock County School Board Office May 16 in an effort to beautify the location. Fran Krebser provided the whiskey barrels and the soil in which students planted annual flowers. Some of the flowers were grown from seed by horticulture students; the rest were donated by Battlefield Farms. Wakefield Country
Day School
On Tuesday, the Rappahannock County Lions , Club brought the Sight and Hearing Mobile Unit to WCDS and screened all the students and many of the staff. This public service that they provide annually to the community is very much appreciated.
At the Wednesday Assembly, the four senior girls from the varsity soccer team started a new tradition in honor of the spirit of the girls’ soccer team, and presented the school with a soccer ball inscribed with their names, numbers, positions, and favorite phrases.
Students also witnessed the swearing-in of the new Student Government officers for 2005-2006: President — Allison Russo of Flint Hill, and Vice President — Caitlin Hammelman of Warrenton, who promised to serve the school and uphold the Wakefield Way.

On Saturday, May 21st, the sixth and seventh grade chorus, led by music teacher Evelyn Oyster, traveled to King’s Dominion to participate in the “Music in the Parks” Festival. They competed against other Class A schools, singing “Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” and their own arrangement of “Lean on Me,” and left with the first place trophy in their division.
