Beverley Deane Ribble Massie
70, of Amissville, Virginia, died Friday, May 20, 2005, at her home, Meadow Grove.
Mrs. Massie was bom October 31. 1934. in Leesburg, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Arthur LeBaron Ribble and Helen Simpson Ribble. Mrs. Massie was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. Virginia. She served on the Rappahannock County School Board for 23 years and serv ed as Chairman for 18 years. She served as Chairman of the George Washington Carver Piedmont Technical Education Center in Culpeper County and also served on numerous committees and charitable organizations. Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years. James Fletcher Massie: two devoted children. James Fletcher Massie. Jr. arid his w ife Deborah Furmage Massie of Amissville and Sarah Massie Cheatwood and her husband John Marshall Cheatwood of Warrenton: two sisters Helen Mae Lauver of El Paso, Texas and Virginia Lee MacKay-Smith of White Post; a brother Arthur LeBaron Ribble; Jr. of Burke. . Virginia; a step-brother William Harbaugh. Jr. of Winchester, four grandchildren David Hamilton Massie. Caroline Meade Thatcher Massie both of Amissv ille. John Marshall Massie Cheatwood. and Brooke Roberts Massie Cheatwood both of Warrenton. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Partin, Manley Bruce. Carl Ebom. G. Wayne Eastham. Clifford Latham. Fletcher King Eastham. and George Edward Williams.
A graveside service will be held Sunday. May-22. 2005. at 2:00 p.m.. at she Massie Family Cemetery at Meadow Grove Farm with Rev. Jennings Hobson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospicd of the Rapidan. P.O. Box 1715, Culpeper. VA 22701. or the Trinity Episcopal Church. P.O. Box 299. Washington.
