The Womans Missionary Union of Forest Grove Baptist Church honored two of its long time members Sunday with special ceremonies at the church. Miss Mary Bruce and Mrs. Carrie Corbin, who had served as p: 3sident and treasurer, respectively, for many years, were given pins in appreciation of their long and steadfast devotion to the W.M.U. Mrs. Menefee Utz made the presentation to Miss. Bruce. Mrs. Corbin was unable to attend the meeting. About fifteen members and friends were present. Cake and punch were served.
For the first time in the history of the world response to the nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers by com being grown on Eubanks loam is being demonstrated at the D. D. Miller and Son farm near Washington, according to W. H. Lyne, who with the cooperation of Va. Tech Extension Agronomist and Southern States Cooperative arranged the demonstration. It was planned in detail for the sake of accuracy of teaching and to gamer information for use to the industry of agriculture in the years ahead.
