He was named Northwestern District Coach of the Year in 1999. Sharpies also has experience with collegiate soccer, serving as an assistant coach at Averett University and Ferrum College. He has also obtained coaching certifications with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Federation.
David Urso, a counselor at LFCC, will serve as the assistant coach for the men’s soccer team. Urso grew up playing soccer in the Philadelphia, Pa. area and has been involved in playing and coaching recreational soccer all over the East Coast.
