Blubaugh has been a Rappahannock County resident for 26 years. He and his wife have three children, including a son in the U.S. Navy. A daughter lives and works in Alexandria, and his youngest son is a senior at Rappahannock High School.
In his acceptance speech, Blubaugh noted that the primary focus of his campaign will be representation. “Rural areas are often overlooked, and issues that are important to us — schools, families, growth, and maintaining our rural heritage and character — need to be fought for.” He went on to add that he would support the interests of “the valleys and the mountains and the hollows,” and that he was not here to further his career or to support special interests. “We all want what is best for our families and our neighbors. That is my campaign promise — I will work hard to represent the people who live here.”
