Society in holding its annual benefit was to raise much-needed funds to sustain the work of this organization that is so important to our community, its roots and its future. Equally important in the group’s planning was to provide an entertaining venue to educate the public about the history of Rappahannock County and to interest our citizens in the work of the Society.
To help the organization achieve these goals, the benefit provided live music from the Civil War era (by “Evergreen Shade”), a series of historical “re-enactments” organized on the sweeping grounds of Jessamine Hill, and docent-guided tours of the beautifully restored
