This is an outstanding opportunity to provide advice, support and direction to the Board of Supervisors on matters of environmental importance in one of the fasted growing localities in the country. The Program Coordinator serves as the County liaison to regional, state and federal agencies and other organizations impacting environmental policy in the County. The Program Coordinator will work with other agencies to monitor issues and help develop environmental programs and policies. The position will also provide support to the Hanning Commission on special projects, development review and comprehensive planning efforts. The Program Coordinator is expected to monitor consistency in the environmental recommendations and evaluations provided through the County’s land development review processes and shall serve as a resource person to all Project Managers in evaluating land development applications. Must have demonstrated project management and supervisory experience exhibiting the ability to manage multiple assignments, to develop positive relationships with Planning Commissioners, Board members and the public, to motivate and support a professional staff and to think strategically about operational and programmatic issues. Requires Master’s degree in planning or related field .and four years of planning experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Position requires a thorough knowledge and experience in environmental planning and design, land use planning, community design. (Hiring Range: $52,219 - $70,495/yr) Ref #05-391.
