It was not until 1792 that three quarters of an acre were deeded to the Ragged Mountain Baptist Society by William and Judith Bradley, land intended for a meeting house for people to attend religious services. There is no record of whether a meeting house was actually built.
However, what is recorded in the minutes of what is now known as the Shiloh Baptist Association is that in 1802 the church was referred to as “Ragged Mountain,” and the minutes of the Association’s 1804 meeting show the name changed to F. T. Baptist Church.
