This week, officials at Wakefield Country Day School were notified by the College Board that ten of their students had earned the distinction of being named AP Scholars in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advance Placement (AP) Program Exams.
Approximately 18 percent of the more than one million high school students worldwide who took the AP Exams performed at a level high enough to merit recognition as an AP Scholar. Two of the students are Rappahannock County residents: Paul Beattie of Woodville is an AP Scholar with Distinction, having earned an average grade of 3.5 or higher (the maximum score is a 5) on all exams taken, and a grade of
