“This is equipment that we could use on a structure fire or something similar,” said AVFRC Chief J.B. Carter. The AVFRC put in for the grant last year.
“It’s a competitive grant based on need. We got it because we needed equipment to protect firefighters, and that’s given a higher priority,” explained Carter.A similar grant awarded in 2003 paid for the AVFRC’s newest fire truck.
