Many different talents, personalities, and interests are needed. Tasks to be done range from doing research, to record keeping, to recruiting other volunteers, to writing reports and articles, to monitoring streams and doing other field work, to contacting land owners about the work, to organizing and publicizing meetings, to analyzing water quality and land use data, to preparing presentations to small groups in subwatersheds, to maintaining email lists, to taking photos at events, to providing updates to the web site, to coordinating with partner organizations, to training others in watershed assessment and stream monitoring skills, to calling government agencies to request data, to attending workshops, and many other tasks.
You can make a big difference just by contributing a couple of hours per week, on average.
