President Mike Leake agreed to match, dollar for dollar, all contributions made by its employees and directors to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief due to devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina to the Gulf Coast region of the US.
The bank gladly donated a check in the amount of $2,020 to Board Chairman Bill Hicks of the American Red Cross Fauquier which serves Rappahannock County.
“I appreciate the generosity of our employees and directors which enabled us to donate $2,020 to our local chapter of the American Red Cross. The bank matched, dollar for dollar, all contributions made by our employees and directors. This will enable our local chapter to fund their volunteers that are in Gulf Coast region assisting in the recovery efforts caused by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, said Leake.
The Fauquier Chapter of the American Red Cross provides assistance for fires, tornados, and any other disaster that may occur in both counties. Their mission is to provide shelter and food whenever necessary in cases of emergencies.
