The Middle Street Gallery’s October show, “Outdoors & Indoors,” presents two very different artistic approaches to realism through the work of artist members TVicker Hill and June Jordan.
Hill’s very small sepia monotype prints present the sweeping expanse of Madison County’s great river valleys at dusk, this summer’s extensive rains throwing up clouds of vapor into the evening light.
In contrast, Jordan’s large colorful canvases depict the airy confines of interior rooms and hallways, daylight reflecting off of polished floors, doorways, passing through glass paned, doors and windows.
“Outdoors & Indoors” will show at Middle Street Gallery in “Little” Washington, Virginia, from Friday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 30 with an artists’ reception on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 2-6 p.m.
June Jordan lives in Sperryville and is director of The Packing Shed Gallery. She has a BFA and MFA from the University of Georgia with a major in Ceramics.
