jungles of Venezuela, an OPEC country, you will recall, there is a monarch butterfly. If that butterfly passes gas, the price of crude oil goes up, and there go the gas prices. It is about as understandable as anything else I’ve heard on gas prices.
Gone forever,
the old Viscose
I was over at the Avtex site last week, when they blew up, blew in, and imploded the last remaining structure of the old Viscose plant. Saw some old friends there, including Frank Wolf, Manuel Pullen, Arland Welch and others., Met a nice fellow by the name of John Henry Ramey, who told me had worked at the plant for many years.
As the day grew hotter and the political speeches dragged on, John Henry opined that if the politicians speechified any longer the dang building would fall down of its own accord. .
The power house they were imploding looked to be a three story affair. After the second set of charges went off, the top floor crumbled, but the other two appeared, at least from my vantage point, to still be standing. Maybe everything went just as planned, but I thought that perhaps it was the spirit of all those who had worked there over the years, just refusing to give up and give in. • ,
