The Singing and Pickin party held monthly at Salem Fire Hall on Route 522, will be celebrating their 10th anniversary on Friday, Sept. 30 from 6-10 p.m.
The first party was held at New Salem Baptist Church with six people featured. Of those six, five are still living. John Triplett, the bango player is now 90 and hoping to attend.
It is also hopeful that all of the others will be there and > do some numbers. The pastor at the first party at New Salem was Sandy Martin. Tb commemorate this event he has written a song.
The public is invited to attend this event. Food and beverages will be avaih ble by the Fire Department.
