This is but a taste of the human suffering, grief, and need that we witnessed. Every family has a sad story. Yet they are resilient, hopeful, planning to J/ recover and rebuild, and they cling to their faith and community. The trip was both depressing and uplifting. God forgive me if I ever again complain about some minor inconvenience in my comfortable, secure life. These people have lost it all except faith and hope, and love for one another.
We must continue to ask ourselves what we can.do for them. I welcome your thoughts and prayers.
In the coming days, we will have some suggestions for action. For now, I just wanted to let you know we are back. We have many stories to tell.
