have to be accountable for the progress they make in educating our children. I join fellow conservatives who have stated for years that our tax dollars should be spent where they do the most good—in the classroom. Massive education bureaucracies in Washington and Richmond do little to help any child learn how to read. We should dedicate ourselves to spending our tax dollars on initiatives that will attract and retain qualified teachers while maintaining accountability to parents and to the taxpayer.
The VEA hardly represents the political views of every teacher in Virginia or this district. I am proud to have the support of many teachers, both current and retired, whose years in the classroom have shown them that is where our precious tax dollars belong.”
