Panthers earn second district win By Kevin Allen Rappahannock News Staff Writer Rappahannock County’s boys varsity basketball team picked up another Bull Run District victory Friday, when they beat Madison County 57-53 at RCHS. The win was the Panthers’ second in the district this season; the other victory also came against Madison, on the road Jan. 3. Rappahannock lost to Manassas Park 61-48 on Jan. 17 at RCHS and lost in overtime 50-46 to Word of Life Christian Academy on Tuesday in Springfield. The Panthers’ record is now 3-14 overall and 2-4 in the district. . The week ahead Rappahannock will travel to Berryville today to face off against defending Group A state champion Clarke County at 7:30 p.m. They will also play at Strasburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both games will be the second meetings between the teams this season. Clarke beat the Panthers 62-48 on Jan. 5 at RCHS. Strasburg won at Rappahannock 80-69 on Jan. 10.
