Assistant varsity wrestling coach Hodge Miller is intent on being,competitive on the highest level. The Rappahannock Panther wrestling team has been traveling throughout the region looking for the most difficult matches possible. “The tougher the match, the greater the results,” Miller said with pride.
As they look to gain mat time, the team has wrestled in several tournaments in places such as Strasburg, Fauquier County, and Harrisonburg and Pittsburgh Pa. This weekend they will be headed to the 2007 Free Lance Star Invitational.
Current stats for the team show Freshman Conner Miller, at 103 lbs., with a record of 20-1 with 17 pins. Freshman Davey Torrence wrestles at. 112 lbs. and has a 13-9 record. At 119 lbs. Tyler Armor stands at 1-12 while the 125 lb. Will Downey sits at 4-9. Daniel Clement wrestles at 135 lbs., with a 415 record scoring 4 pins.
