The Town of Washington Planning Commission and Town Council met jointly Monday to begin revising a draft policy for boundary-line adjustments in the town.
The stimulus for the policy came in June from a petition by 12 property owners near Piedmont and Oden avenues, west of Washington, that are requesting to have the town’s boundaries adjusted to include their properties.
Since then, the discussion has evolved into a policy-making process that will help the town handle future requests for boundary-line adjustments.
Throughout the meeting Monday, Planning Commission and Town Council members tried to discuss the overarching themes and intentions of the policy without delving into specific scenarios of what may or may not happen if a boundary
