Rappahannock County residents opposed to a plan for an outdoor music festival at the Blue Rock Inn won an easy victory on Jan. 17 at a public hearing before the County Planning Commission.

Finley Productions, the company applying for a specialexception permit to produce the event, did not attend the meeting, leading Planning Commission members to unanimously recommend that the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors deny the permit.

County Administrator John McCarthy said he had received no recent communication from the Warrenton-based company, and therefore did not know why Finley representatives were not present at the hearing.
