ceremony to honor those who have served our country. Under the leadership of Jim Swindler, Korean War veteran, and his wife Phyllis, these are the plans to date to correct that situation:
• Sperryville Cemetery has generously given permission for erection of a memorial just beyond the top of the center stairway entrance — a premier location.
• Two bids have been obtained for an eight foot granite obelisk with an inscription and an engraving of the VFW emblem.
• VFW will place a wreath on the memorial each year on Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day.
Sketches of the memorial will be available, and most important, plans for fundraising will be developed at the
