Prd% vides students the opportunity to work in an after school licensed child care setting under direct supervision of an After School Site Supervisor, learning how to provide supervision of participants according to VA state licensing, department policies and procedures. Provides opportunities to team planning and implementation of age appropriate activities for school age children, and administering appropriate disciplinary techniques. Will receive leadership training and gain a working knowledge of state child care licensing standards. Assist with snack preparation, room-set up and clean up on a daily basis. Assures program supplies are dean, safe, ago appropriate and property stored. Must have excellent communication skills. Requires completion of 10th grade. Must have a general knowledge of child care practices and a willingness to team about current licensing standards. Must obtain certification in CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire. Must have current TB test certification. Attend 24 hours of programmatic training during the school year to enhance skills and knowledge of school aged child care and programming.
