Ki Theatre’s first “Soup and Soul” presentation of the new year featured a discussion by nationally-acclaimed oil painter, Steven Kenny, who moved to Rappahannock County in 1997. In his talk, Kenny recalled his early interest in art that led him from commercial illustration and into a successful career as a fine artist. His paintings, which grace galleries across the country and abroad, combine detailed realism and symbolism to create a surrealistic tableau that has become his trademark. Many of his paintings were shown and discussed in a slide show for a group of about 70 attendees who had signed up in the Fall for this presentation. Two more presentations by area writers and playwrights are scheduled for February and March and all now have a waiting list. This weekend’s presentation was held at the home of Adrienne Brown, Jeff Smith, and Margaret Brown near Little Washington.
