The stalwarts of the Amissville Fire and Rescue Company, their families and friends sat together this past Saturday night at the firehouse, for a meal of beef and chicken and vegetables? followed by presentation of the annual awards.
At the top of the list was John F. Pearre, designated Firefighter of the year for 2006.
Pearre, whose Dad is is also a member at Amissville, was one of the top ten responders, answering 135 calls during the year.
As he presented the award, Assistant Chief Scott Chamberlain announced, “John has taken it to the next level, has become a professional firefighter ... a number us have done that, started here,” where, of course,
