This is the school’s second attempt to move to property in the Flint Hill area.
In February 2006, the school’s proposal to move to a house on Bear Wallow Road ignited strong opposition from neighborhood residents. School administrator Elaine Glier withdrew the application after neighbors of the property complained that the location was inadequate to handle traffic and potential emergencies for a school.
At the time, Planning Commission members recommended that school officials try to find a location on a main road in the county.
“We heard loud and clear last time: location, location, location,” Glier said.
On Jan. 17, three people stood up to speak in favor of the application and no one opposed it.
