The class has also learned the simple fundamentals of a small engine and how to repair one. Mr. Davis plans a full six weeks of automotive repair.
As most of you know the baseball track and field teams have began practices. Mr. Glenn Davis will be head coach of the baseball team for the 1982 season. For the track team. Ms. Ann Spieker will head the girls and Mr. Chiles, former coach for Randolph-Macon Academy, will be in charge of the boys. Mr. Chiles will also be substituting for various schools throughout the area.
Ms. Marshall’s gifted and talented students began their first class under the new program on Monday. Students who are signed up for the performing arts seminar had an opportunity to invent and choreograph their own dances under the instruction of Ms. Sally Nash. They also learned other dance techniques such as weight dependency. Weight dependency is used in dances involving two or more people who allow their bodies to balance each other in a picturesque dance.
The only major meeting to take place this week was that of the senior class. The seniors discussed leaving a gift to school, using a portion of the money obtained through fund-raisers. Also on the agenda were details about the senior trip and the seniorteacher basketball game which is another of the many class projects.
