He served as commandant of R andol ph - M aeon Academy and principal of Warren County High School before becoming superintendent. Prior to his retirement. Mr. Gasque became director of field services and placement at
James Madison University. He was prominent in civic, church and community affairs.
Surviving with his widow, Mrs. Ruth Beaty Gasque, are two daughters, Jeanne Sandidge of Manassas and Quincey Butler of Falls Church; two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Finkbeiner and Mrs. J. W. Copeland of Laurens, S. C. and six grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday at the Front Royal United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Laughton Corr and the Rev. James Payne. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal.
