Rappahannock’s inside threat on the courts in the 1981-82 basketball season, junior center Mike Leake, has been named to Skyline’s All-District team, according to coach Bob Edmondson. Of the ten players selected by the coaches for all-district, Leake tallied the second highest point total to qualify, Edmondson added.
Guard Robert Myers, the Panthers’ defensive ace, was named to the all-district second five.
Leake’s average of 16.3 points per game gave him the district’s scoring title. His best output was 25 against Clarke County, a team that the Panthers will face regularly in the new Battlefield District they join next year. An asset on boards at both ends of the court, Leake averaged 6.3 rebounds per game on the season.
