Sift white flour, soda, salt, sugar in a bowl. Add wheat flour and mix well. Rub in margarine. Make a well in the center - pour in the milk - mix well until ingredients make a stiff batter. Pour into a loaf pan or a round cake pan. Smooth top with a wet knife. Cut a cross on top and bake for fifty minutes to one hour at 400 degrees.

This bread is best served the day it is baked as it is apt to dry out rather quickly. However, it can be sliced and toasted the second day.
