This is my second handdelivered attempt to respond to your editorial “Secret Sessions" of 2-25-82. I had your promise to print it last week, as I do this week...

I ask you why the rush? The rush to insult your own little abused character by automatically assuming the negative. Is this just an insatiable flaw inherent to human nature? If so, some of us are quite more human, in this respect, than others. ' To my knowledge no one on our school board has been accused of malicious business practices such as running a child-labor “sweatshop”, embezzlement, or any other wild or mild form of perversity.

Yet when our school board comes out of executive session, why the rush to broadcast your feelings of abuse and mistrust. Need I point out that towards early morning no member of our board has any desire to procrastinate even a few minutes of all of our precious time. Perhaps the board may not have adhered to YOUR SCHEDULE, to YOUR AGENDA, to YOUR GENERAL PLAN. Too bad, we’re not here just for you. We are here to improve education in Rappahannock County as readily and professionally as is humanly possible. Yet after completing discussions that by our own Title 22 School Laws in the State of Virginia must be discussed in executive session, one would think we had committed some ACT OF TREASON.
